Minnesota has a reputation for being relatively flat. After all, the state’s highest point is only 1,322 feet above sea level. But that doesn’t mean there are no places to see interesting terrain. In fact, one of the coolest places in Minnesota involves venturing early 80 feet below the earth’s surface to a one-of-a-kind cavern that has its very own underground waterfall. Take a look:
Niagara Cave is a well-known southern Minnesota spot for curious adventurers. You'll find it at 29842 Co. Hwy. 30, Harmony, MN 55939.
Even if you're not going to get hitched at Niagara Cave, it is well worth the visit. The passages offer an otherworldly insight into Minnesota's ancient past.
Stop in for a visit to see cave formation in action. The flowing water continues to erode the limestone walls. Who knows what the cave will look like in another thousand years!
Visiting hours vary for Niagara Cave, but the best times to visit are May through November. General admission is $16, with admission at $10 for kids up to age 12.
