Here in Minnesota, there are many historic attractions. From ancient petroglyphs and burial mounds to century-old historic homes, many eras of Minnesota history are available for exploration. One favorite historic spot for many in the city of Northfield is Ole Store Restaurant, a tasty eatery that is housed in a 130-year-old general store. Next time you’re looking to spend some time in a historic place, look no further than this delicious and charming restaurant.
Ole Store Restaurant is in the small city of Northfield, Minnesota, about 40 miles south of the Twin Cities. As you near the restaurant, you won't be able to miss it thanks to the charming white exterior.
As it says on the restaurant's sign, the building was constructed in 1889. Once a general store, it has been reconfigured into a delightful restaurant that is now one of the tastiest spots in Northfield.
Step inside, and you'll find a modern restaurant with plenty of seating. The friendly staff will help you find your seat and answer any menu questions you have.
The dining area is clean and comfortable. Though there are not many hints that this was once a general store, it is still easy to imagine the business that was once conducted here.
As for the food, Ole Store serves up flavorful, fresh meals. Brunch is a popular time to visit, with French toast, hash browns, and bacon among the many delicious offerings.
