In keeping up with the newest restaurants, it’s easy to forget those that have been here all along. One of them, Pracna on Main, is often considered the oldest restaurant in Minnesota. From its opening day to its closure and eventual reopening, this restaurant has a long and storied history.

Its location next to the St. Anthony Theatre has made Pracna a popular dining spot for decades.

But there have been some setbacks. Prohibition led to hard times for the owners, and the restaurant closed until the 1970s.
