With all of our train rides, train-themed parks, boxcar hotels, and railroad-themed restaurants, there’s no shortage of fun things for train lovers to do in Minnesota. Today, let’s add one more spot to the list. There’s an old train in Minnesota that is now a restaurant, and you absolutely have to visit.
The Whistle Stop Diner is a lovely little spot in Benson, Minnesota, a small town in the western part of the state. The address is 1220 Atlantic Ave., Benson, MN 56215.
From the outside, you can see how charming this restaurant is. But once you learn its history, you'll love it even more. Whistle Stop Diner is actually an old 1878 train car!
The Minnesota-style comfort food will take you back to your childhood. Some meals are even served on the owner's grandmother's original Norwegian dishes.
