Despite what Southerners may claim, you don’t have to travel south of the Mason-Dixon Line to get great BBQ. In fact, some of the best is found right here in Minnesota. There’s a small chain of restaurants that started in Wisconsin and is slowly growing through the Twin Cities metro. Old Southern BBQ serves up scrumptious, Southern-style BBQ that will have you salivating as soon as you step in the door. Old Southern BBQ has several locations, with the first being in Hayward, Wisconsin. Today, we want to highlight the France Avenue location in Minneapolis.
As soon as you walk in the door, the scent of BBQ cooking will alert you that you've come to the right place. Go up to the counter to order, then choose a seat in the spacious dining area.
This casual restaurant has plenty of seating. Americana decor, string lights, and BBQ memorabilia will give your eyes a treat as you eat. You're bound to feel right at home here!
During warmer months, you also have the option of sitting outside. The comfortable patio, surrounded by greenery, is a rarity in urban restaurants like this one.
If you're more into ribs, Old Southern has you covered. Rib platters come with perfectly seasoned and cooked ribs alongside a side, a muffin top, and a pickle. Yum!
