A good meal is not hard to come by in Minnesota! There is a tasty restaurant in just about every town in the state, each with a delicious menu that will fill your empty belly. More difficult to find are restaurants that have the warm, welcoming vibe that we all crave once winter sets in. But if you search, you can find eateries that you won’t want to leave, especially when the temperature drops. One of our favorites is a lovely spot called My Sister’s Place. It’s located on Minnesota’s North Shore, and it offers hearty food and a cozy vibe. Take a look:
My Sister's Place is a popular stop along Minnesota's North Shore. It's in Grand Marais, right off Highway 61. You'll spot it thanks to its distinctive log cabin vibe.
That cabin feel continues inside. The cozy dining area is filled with warm wood tones, giving it a lived-in atmosphere that'll make you feel right at home.
There are plenty of tables to accommodate parties of just about any size. This place does get busy, but there is rarely a long wait. It's a great stop for hungry travelers headed north.
The walls are covered in interesting art and knickknacks, many of which celebrate Minnesota and the North Shore. These conversation starters will keep you entertained as you wait for your food.
As for the food, My Sister's Place has a large menu of hearty dishes that will fill you up. There's something for everyone here, including crowd-pleasing apps like wings or cheese curds.
Many come here for any of the 15+ different burgers, each served with soup, slaw, or fries. The other sandwiches on the menu — pulled pork, BLT, or seasonal fresh-caught fish — are also sure to satisfy.
Other favorites include pizza, calzones, salad, soup, and more! Whether you're stopping while traveling north or refilling your tank after a trek through the Boundary Waters, My Sister's Place will welcome you with its comfortable vibe and delicious food.
And if you have the time, order your meal alongside a pint of a locally brewed Minnesota beer. The rotating selection means you're sure to find something you like!
My Sister’s Place is open Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, check out their website and Facebook page. And if you love finding new-to-you eateries, check out our list of 11 amazing restaurants hiding in Minnesota.
