Minnesota is full of great steakhouses! No matter which region you find yourself in – north, east, south, or west – you’ll likely have a fantastic steakhouse just a few miles down the road. Though there are delicious steakhouses everywhere, the highest concentration has got to be in the Twin Cities. There, you’ll find one of the oldest steakhouses in the state. Murray’s Steakhouse has been family-owned since the 1940s, and their award-winning food is still popular today. Murray's Steakhouse is a popular restaurant in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was opened by Art and Marie Murray in 1946.
Murray's has remained family-owned since it opened. Today, it is a third-generation family-owned restaurant. Art and Marie's grandchildren have continued the restaurant's reputation for amazing food.
Inside, you'll find a modern restaurant that maintains an old-school atmosphere. Visit the bar if you have time. Murray's mixes great drinks, and it's a fun way to take in the restaurant's vibe.
The dining area is spacious with plenty of booth and table seating. Thanks to the classy vibe, this is a place many people visit for special occasions.
But what about the food? Murray's has a broad menu of classic steakhouse fare. If you'd like an appetizer, try a fresh salad or a savory bowl of French onion soup.
The bread is also phenomenal! The original baker developed recipes for garlic bread and pretzels that are still used today. You won't regret giving them a try.
If you aren't too stuffed from appetizers, it's time to move onto the main course. There are several sandwiches, including walleye, chicken, steak. If that won't quite cut it, order a burger and fries. Yum!
All of the sandwiches are great, but Murray's is most known for its steak. The Silver Butter Knife Steak is an award-winning 28-ounce strip sirloin cooked to your liking and carved tableside.
