It seems like nearly every day, a new restaurant pops up somewhere in Minnesota. And while it’s great to try new things, there’s something to be said for restaurants that stand the test of time. Few have stood longer than the Rapidan Dam Store in Mankato, Minnesota. The little restaurant celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2010, and it’s still a popular destination for both travelers and locals today.
The Rapidan Dam Store opened at its current location in 1910, after the Rapidan Dam was completed on the Blue Earth River.
Over the years, the store has become a popular spot for those who choose to venture off the beaten path. It's located a bit out of the way at 54116 Glory Road in Mankato.
But the biggest draw is definitely the Dam Pie. These come in more than a dozen different varieties, and all are delicious - and homemade. If you don't get anything else, get a piece of pie.
