There are a million things to do within the city of Minneapolis. But for many resident tend to pick their favorite activities and places and stick with them, rather than branching out to try new things. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with knowing what you like and want to do, but every once and awhile it’s good to change up your routine. Minneapolis has so much to offer: here are ten surprising things you’ve never thought about doing in Minneapolis!
1. Hi-Fi Hair and Records
The owner of Hi-Fi, Johnny Clifford, better known as Jonny Z (Zygomatic) knows exactly what cool is. His salon has been open since 2012 in Loring Corners and has aimed to connect fashion and music, since the two are far from mutually exclusive. Whether you want to receive the best rock 'n' roll haircut of your life, or want to file through the store's expansive vinyl collection, you'll leave Hi-Fi with a smile on your face.

House of Balls is located at 1504 S. 7th St, Minneapolis, MN 55454.
3. Ingebretsen's Scandinavian Foods and Gifts
A very large percentage of Minnesotans have Scandinavian blood. We can’t get enough of our heritage: cutesy shops and delis like Ingebretsen's are the perfect place to get in touch with our lineage. Ingebretsen's has been open since the 1920s and still proudly serves all of the lutefisk and lingonberries your heart desires.
Ingebretsen's Scandinavian Foods and Gifts is located at 1601 E. Lake St., Minneapolis, MN 55407.

Orfield Laboratories is home to the quietest room in the world. It's so quiet in the room that you can practically hear the blood running through your veins. We don't know the record, but for $125 a person you can make this tour happen and see what all of the fuss is about.

7. The Soap Factory
This art gallery used to be, you guessed it, a soap factory in the early 1900s. The Soap Factory holds the scariest haunted house every October to milk its haunted history for everything its got.
The Soap Factory is located at 514 2nd St. SE., Minneapolis, MN 55414.
8. Volstead's Emporium
