The Twin Cities area certainly has a wide variety of delicious breakfast spots — from Hot Plate to Wise Acre Eatery — that make deciding where to dine almost impossible. We know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so it’s no wonder why there are so many options. Next time you’re in the mood for exceptional eggs or perfect pancakes, head to this family favorite restaurant located just across the river from Minneapolis.
Located just over the bridge from Minneapolis on the corner of Grand Avenue and Lexington Parkway South, is the Uptowner Cafe on Grand. Its exact address is 1100 Grand Avenue in St. Paul.
The unassuming little red building might not look like much, but don't judge a book by its cover. Be prepared to wait for a table — there is usually a line!
Any time you visit this restaurant, you know you're getting a fresh-cooked meal. How? Because they make it right in front of you. The kitchen is in full view from just about every seat in the house.
Browse the extensive breakfast menu while sipping your coffee. You will find a wide variety of options served at the Uptowner. And you’re just in luck — breakfast is served all day.
With nine different omelet combinations on the menu, there is something to suit every taste bud. Have a classic Denver omelet, or venture out and have Joe Mauer’s favorite combination of andouille sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese!
Many other amazing options round out the menu. For example, try out the Cajun Breakfast. House-made hash browns are grilled with onions, green peppers, and mushrooms —covered in melted cheddar — top over easy eggs. Then, the entire thing is topped with hollandaise sprinkled with Cajun spices. It's simply mouthwatering!
If you're in the mood for something sweet, try out the French toast. Sprinkled with powdered sugar and topped with fresh fruit, it's just what you need to start your day off right.
