1. Minnehaha Falls
Minnehaha Regional Park is quite possibly the most beautiful place in all of Minneapolis. With a 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs, and river overlooks, it is no wonder why this park attracts more than 850,000 visitors yearly. Within the park, you will find several gardens, a dog park, and several historical buildings you won’t want to miss!
2. Minneapolis Sculpture Garden
Since its opening, the Garden has welcomed millions of visitors. Their most notable art piece is Spoonbridge and Cherry. Come picnic on the lawn and enjoy all the amazing art pieces.
3. Target Field
Home of America’s favorite pastime and the Minnesota Twins, Target Field will not disappoint. Offering more than just peanuts and crackerjacks, Target Field is also the stage for many musical performers throughout the year.
4. Salt Cave Minnesota
With the stress of jobs, children, and life, sometimes it is nice to kick back and relax! Visit Minnesota’s first therapeutic salt cave and discover the benefits. Salt therapy, also known as halotherapy, has been used for centuries to alleviate symptoms of asthma, allergies, respiratory problems, anxiety, and other ailments.
5. Mill Ruins Park
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Mill Ruins Park is a National Historic Engineering Landmark. The park tells the story of how the mills, canals, and other resources comprised the largest direct-drive water-powered facility in the world… and was the leading international producer of flour.
6. Theaters
Minneapolis has the second most theater seats per capita in the United States. With more than a dozen stages, finding a good show to see in this city should be easy-peasy! One of the most popular, the Orpheum, has a rich history and is a truly beautiful building.
7. Nicollet Mall
Like to shop and eat? We do, too! Nicollet Mall is a twelve-block portion of Nicollet Avenue running through downtown Minneapolis. This is the shopping and dining district of the city. You’re sure to find something to fit your taste.
8. Brewery Tours Galore
With nearly a dozen breweries located in Minneapolis alone, there’s no doubt you will find the brew for you. One of the most well known breweries, Surly Brewing Co., offers more than 20 different brews.
9. Minneapolis Institute of Arts
From Van Gogh to Monet to Picasso and tons in between, if you are a fan of art, check out the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Here, you’ll find paintings, contemporary art, decorative arts, textiles, sculptures, and much more.
10. Como-Harriet Streetcar Line
Hop on and take a nostalgic ride on one of the historic train cars between the lakes. Once you get off, you’ll find lakeside refreshments, boats and canoes for rent, ducks to feed, and tons more!
