In a city like Minneapolis, you don’t have to look too hard to find incredible, mouthwatering food. New restaurants open all the time, and if all else fails, you can always fall back on a tried-and-true favorite. One of the best – yet most overlooked – foods in Minneapolis? The sandwich. Often relegated to brown bag lunches, it is time to bring the humble sandwich into the spotlight. These 10 restaurants in Minneapolis and Saint Paul offer up some of the best sandwiches in the entire Twin Cities. Take one bite, and you’ll forget all about PB&J.
Terzo has a lot of great food, but the restaurant is best known for its amazing Italian porchetta sandwiches. You can order the sandwich from the main dining area menu, but Terzo actually has a window - the Porchetteria - just for ordering one of these savory sandwiches. Even better, it's open all year long. You can take it to go or enjoy it on the patio. Either way, it's a knockout sandwich that you have to try.
An arepa is a Venezuelan sandwich that can be stuffed with any number of ingredients. At Hola Arepa, those toppings range from slow-roasted pork to chorizo to black beans and sweet potato. Whichever combination you choose, your sandwich is going to be absolutely delicious.
