Here in Minnesota, we have countless steakhouses that serve up truly special food. For an old-school joint, check out Lindey’s Prime Steakhouse. And for a great meal when you’re up north, visit Y Steakhouse in Park Rapids. And if you’re a few miles south of the Twin Cities, you might want to make a special detour for Lord Essex Steakhouse. This gorgeous restaurant looks like something out of a medieval castle, and their food is absolutely delicious. Here’s everything you need to know:
Lord Essex Steakhouse is a fantastic spot located within the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester, Minnesota. But of course, you don't have to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy the restaurant.
Step inside, and it's like being transported back in time. The restaurant has been around for nearly a century, and it shows. In fact, it looks like it could be even older! The dark wood and leather details make it look like a medieval castle.
The detailed carpets and stained glass partitions also add to the centuries-old atmosphere. This dining room provides the quiet, intimate atmosphere you want for a special night out.
For example, try a filet mignon or a ribeye. All of the beef is USDA prime, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to your liking. A wide array of sides may accompany your meal.
When you're done with your dinner, order a decadent dessert. The menu includes pie, cake, torte, and more. You'll never walk away hungry from this beautiful steakhouse.
