Where is the pink sand beach in MN?
Minnesota is gorgeous, and it’s full of surprises. One of those surprises is the fact that we have an amazing pink sand beach in MN known as Iona’s Beach. It can be found in Two Harbors, and its overwhelming beauty is a result of thousands of years of erosion of a nearby rhyolite deposit. Oh, and perhaps the best part is that it “sings”. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Minnesota, and you ought to visit it ASAP.
How many lakes in Minnesota actually are there?
Minnesota might be called the “Land of 10,000 Lakes”, but in reality, there are far more. Amazingly, there are, at the time of this writing, 14,380 incredible lakes in Minnesota, which doesn’t even sound like it could be real (but it is). The largest lake in Minnesota is by far (and perhaps most obviously) Lake Superior, which is an impressive 31,700 square miles in size. Sure, it’s shared with other states, but we love it all the same. The largest lake entirely within the state of Minnesota is Leech Lake, which is an impressive 111,527 acres in size, followed by Lake Winnibigoshish, which is 58,544 acres in size. The many, many lakes in MN are the perfect places for things like Minnesota camping trips, so start planning your outdoor adventure ASAP.
