Where do you go when you want delicious produce that is fresher than the grocery store? Unless you have your own garden or farm, you probably head out to the next-best place: a farmers market. There a few lovely indoor farmers markets in the Twin Cities area, but today we want to feature one a little further north. The Duluth Farmer’s Market is a gigantic market housed in a barn, and there you’ll find all of the locally grown produce — and more — that you’ll ever need.
Duluth Farmer's Market is housed in a red barn at 14th Avenue East and 3rd Street in Duluth, Minnesota. It has been at its current location since 1953!
During its tenure, the market has grown a reputation for hosting friendly, informative vendors who show up with all the goodies you need to make your week complete.
The many vendors come from all around the local area, and they come prepared to answer questions and offer great deals. You just can't get goods this great at the grocery store!
Fresh-baked breads and sweets are the name of the game for some vendors. Buy something to munch on during your visit, and another something to enjoy at home.
Speaking of spruces, the farmers market is a fabulous place in all season. During Christmastime, stop in to pick out a beautiful, local evergreen for your home.
All in all, this indoor farmers market is a must-visit for its great vendors, amazing prices, and charming setting. Starting May 5, it is open Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon, and Wednesdays 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
