The Land of 10,000 Lakes is home to many multi-billion-dollar corporations – and we love having them here. Many improve the community by bringing jobs and investing in infrastructure. But some of Minnesota’s best businesses are the small ones. There’s one hundred-year-old hardware store in Minnesota that has been family-owned since it started. Visiting is a wonderful look into the past, and you’ll absolutely love it.
Sauser's Hardware is a family-owned business in Pine City, Minnesota. You'll find it at 229 5th St. SE, Pine City, MN 55063.
It is right in Pine City's downtown area near a park, a brewery, and many local restaurants. Even without Sauser's, this little town is a great day trip destination.
The store was opened more than 100 years ago in 1909 by a man named W.A. Sauser. It is still owned and operated by a member of the family, his great-grandson Mike Sauser.
Today, this historical hardware store shows its age in the best way possible. Entering the store is like stepping back in time. There is a lot to look at.
Sauser's has just about everything you need for just about every project in your home. It gets especially busy when it comes time to buy snowblowers, rakes, and other seasonal gear.
Even more interesting is the Sauser's basement. It's known to be a treasure trove of unique vintage finds from the early days of the hardware store and of Pine City.
This charming hardware store is a whole lot more than nuts and bolts. It's a piece of Minnesota history, and it's a must-visit spot next time you're in the area.
Have you ever been to Sauser’s? It’s an easy stop for those traveling on I-35 or Highway 61. You don’t want to miss it! For more information about the store, check out its website and Facebook page.
