In the past, we’ve covered many of Minnesota’s top roadside restaurants. Each of these places offers a homey vibe and great food, with good service to boot. Among our favorites include the Rock Creek Cafe, Park Diner, and the Emmaville Inn. But we’re always on the hunt for more, like the one we’d like to feature today. House of Coates might not look like much from the outside, but inside there is a menu full of great grub served up in a welcoming setting. Sound good? Read on below to learn more.
House of Coates is a roadside stop off of Highway 52 in Rosemount, Minnesota. It's about 25 miles south of the Twin Cities.
...but if you step inside, you'll find a great, low-key spot that just about anyone will enjoy. Sit at the bar if you're looking for a front-row seat to the action - or easy access to drinks. There's plenty of beer on tap, and they're happy to make you a cocktail.
If sitting at the bar isn't your thing, the dining room has plenty of table space. This is a welcoming spot for families, so feel free to bring kids here. It's a great pitstop to stretch your legs and grab a bite!
Speaking of bites, the menu is full of American fare favorites. If you're craving a quick appetizer, you can't go wrong with a basket of onion rings or fries.
Like any good roadside restaurant, House of Coates also serves great burgers. Topped with favorite toppings such as cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato, they're especially good when served with a mound of fries. Yum!
And if you're craving something a bit more hearty, go with a rib dinner, walleye, broasted chicken, or even steak. All dinners are served with your choice of potato, salad, and a roll. No matter what you get, you're bound to walk away happy and full!
House of Coates is a tasty stop great for anyone traveling down Highway 55 in Rosemount. For more information about the restaurant, including menus, hours, and more, visit their Facebook page.
