Here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, we have more than a few incredible waterfalls. Some of our most popular parks, like Minnehaha and Gooseberry Falls, are centered on this very natural wonder. But what about Minnesota’s lesser-known waterfalls? There are many hidden spots in every corner of the state, including the southwestern prairie. That’s where you’ll find a hidden prairie waterfall that will show you a new side of Minnesota. Take a look:
Touch the Sky Prairie is a beautiful, little-known part of southwestern Minnesota. It's just outside the small town of Luverne.
With waving grass surrounding you, you'll feel like you're far from Minnesota. This area is much unlike the thick woods of the north or the rocky river bluffs of the southeast.
Paths through Touch the Sky Prairie will lead you to some of the prettiest sites. One, in particular, leads to a small but beautiful prairie waterfall.
Not only will you catch a gorgeous glimpse of Minnesota's shrinking prairie, but you will also add a quiet waterfall to the list of Minnesota's beautiful places you've witnessed for yourself.
