Teeny-tiny towns in Minnesota make some of the best day trips! That’s especially true if you love to look for treasures in overlooked places. Sleepy downtowns often give way to little shops full of locally made goodies, rare antiques, and more. Next time you’re looking for an excursion that doesn’t involve going to the city, head on down to Henderson, Minnesota. This little village is full of interesting shops!
Henderson, Minnesota, is a southern Minnesota town about 60 miles south of the Twin Cities. It’s home to just under 900 people.
Many of these buildings house an interesting shop that is just waiting for you to browse it. For example, Henderson Classical Glass is filled with glass bowls, ornaments, and vases. You can even get spectacular stained glass panels here!
Down the road from the glass store, check out Heart of Henderson. This spot has a mishmash of vintage treasures and handmade art and home décor. You’ll love it whether you’re looking for gifts or a new-to-you decoration for your home. They even have classes where you can get crafty!
Another great antique store is Henderson Antiques and Uniques. Housed in a building from 1894, the store is an antique itself! You’ll find everything from antique décor pieces to vintage collectibles here.
And for dessert, Toody’s Sweet Treats has your daily sugar fix! There’s ice cream, candy, pie, and more. Anyone with a sweet tooth will love to explore this little shop.
All in all, this delightful little town has a village of shops hiding on its historic Main Street. Next time you're looking for a fun day trip that includes shopping, try Henderson!
