As if we didn’t already have enough reasons to love where we live, just recently Minnesota was named one of the happiest states in America by WalletHub! The credit site used an intricate point system as well as twenty eight metrics to help best determine which of America’s states were statistically the most happy. Curious as to what makes our state so happy? Let’s find out!

Using a score out of 100 points, Minnesota came in at number two on the list with a Happiness Score of 69.09!

To put things into better perspective, the number one spot on the list went to Utah with a Happiness Score of 71.02, the third place spot went to North Dakota with a 67.95 score and the last spot on the list came in with a score of just 32.65. So, while this grade may not certainly be the one you would've wished for while you were in school, it certainly is a great number for a list like this!

Overall, America's Midwestern states came out on top with their Happiness Scores. While many factors contributed to the overall scores, three major things were used to determine the results. Emotional & Physical Well-Being, Community & Environment and Work Environment.

The one category that we scored number one in out of all our other states? Emotional & Physical Well-Being! As for Community & Environment Minnesota was 5th and for Work Environment our state came in 9th. Making the top ten in all three major categories?

Engaged couples needn't worry! Minnesota came in on the list as having the third lowest divorce rate out of all the other states! Not only are our residents happy, but love still remains in the air.

Pictured above, you can see what got us to the top of our next category: Highest Volunteerism. Minnesota came in tied for the fourth spot on the list with South Dakota. Last but certainly worth acknowledging, another category our residents will be happy to hear we scored well in was the Highest Adequate-Sleep Rate, taking the third spot on this list as well.
