Sometimes, there’s nothing tastier than a fish dinner. Luckily, here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, fresh fish for such a dinner is not hard to come by. Visit your favorite lake to reel in a few good meals for yourself, or you can head to one of the state’s tasty seafood restaurants. One of our favorites is a seafood shack along the North Shore where you can buy fresh fish caught from Lake Superior. If that sounds good to you, read on below to learn more about Fisherman’s Daughter.
The Fisherman’s Daughter at Dockside Fish Market is a popular spot in Grand Marais, Minnesota, about 110 miles north of Duluth along Highway 61.
Fisherman’s Daughter specializes in fresh fish, including Lake Superior whitefish, trout, and herring caught from the boat. The deli has plenty of fresh and smoked fish to choose from. If you’re looking for the authentic flavor of the North Shore, this might just be it.
You can get delicious fried fish here, too. Made with Lake Superior whitefish, it’s nicely breaded and fried to perfection. Served alongside a pile of fries, and it’ll be one memorable meal.
Another favorite way to enjoy fried, fresh-from-the-lake fish is in a taco. Loaded up with all the fixings - and tasty sauce to boot - these tacos are sure to satisfy.
Have you ever been to Fisherman’s Daughter? For more information about this spot, visit the Fisherman’s Daughter website and Facebook page. And if you’re interested in other great things to do while you’re in Grand Marais, check out our past articles about Artists Point and World’s Best Donuts.
