This little farm town is home to the original Main Street, as described by Sinclair Lewis in the famous play by the same name. But the town has more to offer than its bustling downtown. The countryside surrounding town offers respite to anyone who seeks it out.
The nearby Lake Osakis gives this little town its name, but there is much more to be seen than lakes. A sleepy downtown is a nice change from the busy streets of Minnesota's largest cities, and then surrounding landscape is full of quiet scenery. Kellogg is a small town of less than 500 people in southeastern Minnesota - the perfect setting to get away from it all. Why? Perhaps the best time to enjoy this farm town is during its annual Watermelon Festival. In 2018, the festival will be held September 8-10.
