What better way to enjoy Minnesota’s perfect fall weather – and scenery – than by taking a hike? But you don’t have to trek the entirety of the Superior Hiking Trail to see fall colors. In fact, you don’t even have to go up north. One of Minnesota’s best fall hikes is at a southern Minnesota state park. It’s just under two miles, and you’ll love every step. Take a look:
Nerstrand Big Woods State Park is a southern Minnesota park located about 60 miles south of Minneapolis. You’ll find it at 9700 170th St. E., Nerstrand, MN 55053.
Hikers will come across several sets of stairs along the way, but the trek is well worth it. You'll get to experience Minnesota's blazing colors as you make your descent.
Once you reach Hidden Falls, you will be in awe of its beauty. Surrounded by the beautiful autumn forest, the rush of the falling creek is truly breathtaking.
If you'd like a quiet yet beautiful way to spend an autumn day, head down to Nerstrand Big WoodS State Park. The Hidden Falls Trail makes it well worth the trip.
