Minnesota is full of small towns, big cities, and everything in between. Each has its very own personality, with plenty to see and do. One of our favorite places in the state is a small city just south of the Twin Cities. There, a busy downtown is full of charming buildings and there’s always something to do. Even more unique, there’s a river that runs right through the middle of the city. It creates a beautiful city like no other, and we’re sure you’ll want to visit. Take a look:
Northfield is a small city of about 20,000 people in southern Minnesota. It's about 40 miles south of the Twin Cities.
While the buildings are old, they're housed with new businesses. Many locally owned shops sell clothing, jewelry, housewares, and more. There's always something new to see.
Many events take place in downtown Northfield every year. One of the most famous is Defeat of Jesse James Day, held annually the weekend after Labor Day.
Thanks to the river, Northfield is one of the most unique cities in Minnesota. Its charm, events, and beauty make it a city everyone should visit at least once.
