Sometimes, you need to take some time away from it all. But it can be expensive and time-consuming to book a trip to Minnesota’s most scenic natural areas. Luckily for Minnesotans, there are plenty of other spots that are worthy of a stop. Every region of the state has a little-known nature park just waiting to be explored. In the Twin Cities metro area, one such park is the Richard T. Anderson Conservation Area. This Eden Prairie park includes a hilly hiking trail that’ll take you high above the surrounding landscape. If you’re looking for a peaceful hike that’s not too far from home, plan a trip to this little spot. Here’s what you need to know:
Richard T. Anderson Conservation Area is a beautiful stretch of land in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The 125-acre park offers beautiful views of the Minnesota River Valley.
In the warmer months, you're likely to find Minnesota wildflowers along the paths. Delicate daisies are just one of many flowers you might spot. Among them, birds and insects flutter.
The steepest part of the park is the Overlook Trail. This challenging path may be difficult for some. But if you can make it to the top, it is the view will more than make up for it.
The path will take you above many of the trees that you'll pass beneath. From high on the ridge, you can see the Minnesota River Valley stretched before you.
This hilly trail is a must-visit spot for those looking for a quiet moment away from the city. The gorgeous view of the rolling prairie and river valley is sure to have you coming back again.
