Here in Minnesota, we are lucky to have our choice of a number of amazing places to live. If you like to live on the edge of the wilderness, you might choose to spend your time in Ely. Or if you love the hustle and bustle of city living, Minneapolis might be a good choice for you. There are dozens of amazing places beyond those two, and some are truly unique. One of the most unique places to live in Minnesota is a tiny community in Winona that is unlike any other in the world.
As a city, Winona is already a pretty great place to live. It is full of beauty, entertainment, and great people.
Some of those people love the river so much that they've decided to make homes on it. A famous boathouse community of over 100 houseboats lines a shore on Latsch Island.
Most of those who live here are only around during warmer months. There are few amenities here, so life in one of the floating houses can get difficult in colder months.
If you don't have a boat, this floating community is visible from a nearby bridge. Drive by slowly to catch a glimpse of the most unique neighborhood in Minnesota!
Have you ever seen the Latsch Island boat community in Winona, Minnesota? Would you ever live in a place as unique as this one? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
