Minnesota may be about as far from the islands as you can get. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get a little tropical. There are plenty of tropical restaurants across the state that offer up island-inspired food and drinks in a fun, colorful environment.
Southern Minnesota has plenty to choose from, with Psycho Suzi’s being one of the best riverfront options. But up north, there’s no shortage of tropical restaurants, too. Next time you’re in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, head over to Long Bridge Bar, Grill, and Marina. There, you’ll find a colorful waterfront restaurant with fantastic food. Take a look:
Long Bridge Bar, Grill, and Marina is a colorful restaurant in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. In fact, it overlooks the lake that gave the town its name. Address: 2000 Long Bridge Road, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501.
Inside the restaurant, you'll find many nods to its tropical theme. It is bright and airy, with pops of color and decorative accents that will make you feel far away.
Also adjacent to the patio? A ramshackle stage that would not look out of place in the islands. Local musicians often perform here, lending a lively vibe to the Long Bridge deck.
Long Bridge Bar, Grill, and Marina is open weekdays 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and weekends 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. For more information about this colorful waterfront restaurant, including a full menu and other offerings, check out their website and Facebook page.
