The Old Creamery Cafe is a charming restaurant in Rice, Minnesota. This small community is about 80 miles northwest of the Twin Cities or 15 miles north of St. Cloud. It’s a great place to stop when you’re in central Minnesota.
The restaurant started its life in 1914 as the Rice Creamery that made milk and butter. As decades passed, it became an agricultural co-op, a carwash, and a laundromat. Finally, in 1989, it opened as the Old Creamery Cafe. It’s been a popular eatery ever since!
Step inside, and you’ll find a simple but homey dining room. The staff is friendly and will make you feel right at home - as will the delicious smells wafting from the kitchen.
This restaurant specializes in comfort foods. You cannot go wrong with a hearty breakfast. All-day items include a Belgian waffle or a platter with hash browns, bacon, and eggs. A larger menu of breakfast items is served until noon.
If you come in later in the day, there are plenty of other fantastic choices. Other favorite comfort foods include country fried steak, roast beef, and fried chicken.
