Now that fall is upon us, the time has come to start making our annual trips to the apple farm. There are plenty to choose from – many of us have a favorite that we return to year after year – but there’s one that stands apart from the rest. Why? Because in addition to apples, it’s also home to a family bakery that creates all sorts of delicious goodies. If you crave fresh apples with a dose of sugar, you’ll want to visit this Minnesota farm.
Aamodt's Apple Farm has been family-owned since 1948. Over the years, the farm has grown into a bakery and winery.
The farm is nestled into the beautiful landscape of Stillwater, Minnesota. It contains over 6,000 apple trees! Visitors can explore the historic buildings, including an 1880s barn, in their quest for crisp apples and sweet treats.
After your snack, time for apples! Aamodt's Apple Farm grows over a dozen different varieties of apple that you can pick yourself. Check here to see which ones are in season.
If you're pressed for time, you can buy pre-picked apples in the apple barn. There's such a huge variety that it's fun to look in here even if you decide to pick your own.
Being an apple farm, you won't have to look far to find apple-themed delicacies. They'll save you the trouble of baking - or of resting the urge to eat your freshly picked apples.
The apple pies are a popular option with their flaky crusts and perfectly sweet fillings. Or for a treat you don't have to share, try an apple turnover.
And if you're a donut lover, you can't go wrong with an apple pie donut. You might want to buy extras, because just one pack might not last the drive home.
