The ultimate Minnesotan vacation is, without a doubt, the one you can take through the untouched Northern wilderness. A trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area is an experience that you will never forget. And if you have even one adventurous bone in your body, you won’t be able to stay away for too long.
In the Superior National Forest, the BWCA encompasses over 1 million gorgeous acres of lakes, streams, islands, and beaches.
On a trip to the BWCA you can encounter deer, moose, beaver, gray wolves, black bears, bobcats, bald eagles, peregrine falcons and loons, not to mention amazing historic landmarks like the Pictographs at Hegman Lake.
Even less experienced paddlers and campers can enjoy the Boundary Waters with equipment and/or guiding services from all of the amazing outfitters surrounding the area.
So take a trip now to experience some of the most amazing fishing, hiking, canoeing, and sunsets. The BWCA is the largest remaining area of uncut forest in the eastern portion of the United States, and everyone deserves the chance to appreciate it.
And if you still don’t believe us, videographer Carl G Martin might just convince you. Watch this stunning video of his annual trip, and get inspired to explore this truly unique place.
The BWCA is definitely Minnesota’s most prized treasure. If you’ve been holding out, it’s time to make the journey! If you’ve been to the BWCA, what is your favorite memory?
