Winter is here to stay – at least for the next several months. But despite the snow and cold, you don’t have to stay indoors! The Land of 10,000 Lakes is full of opportunities to get outside this winter, with ice skating, skiing, and snow tubing among the top activities. And for those who take their sledding seriously, we add one more fun event to the list: the Art Sled Rally at Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis. Read on to learn all you need to know about this fun winter event!
Powderhorn Park is a small but lovely park in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It's popular for anyone who craves a peaceful walk in the middle of the city.
It gets even better: sledders themselves often get dressed up in over-the-top costumes and makeup. Anything goes, from wigs to capes to crowns and beyond.
The best part? It’s totally free to participate as either a spectator or a sledder. All you have to do is show up with your sled, waiver in hand. You’ll also be asked to sign a photo release and, if your child will be participating, a parental release form.
This winter’s Art Sled Rally takes place on January 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Simply show up and you’ll be able to sled. Don’t forget to decorate your sled – and yourself – for even more fun!
