The Land of 10,000 Lakes is home to more than 140,000 miles of roads. They lead us to the state’s most wonderful destinations, including state parks, small towns and big cities, and the sparkling waters of Lake Superior – to name a few. But sometimes it’s hard to find a good meal on the road. Sure, you could pack your own lunch. Or you could stop at a gas station to grab a bite. But we all know the favorite choice is to check out a new restaurant. There are many roadside restaurants along Minnesota’s highways and byways. Next time you’re traveling along Highway 371 in northern Minnesota, consider stopping by the 371 Diner in Baxter. Here’s what you’ll find when you get there:
371 Diner is a roadside restaurant along the busy Highway 317 in Baxter, Minnesota, just north of Brainerd.
The restaurant stands out from the other buildings along the roadside thanks to the shiny chrome that covers it. If you're looking for a little nostalgia, you'll love this 50s-inspired restaurant.
Inside, the retro vibe continues. From the checkerboard floor to the shiny red and white booths, this place looks like something straight out of the 1950s. The walls are covered in fun art and memorabilia that you can scope out as you wait for your food.
The menu is full of diner classics, including breakfast. If you're craving something light, there are plenty of options for you. Why not order a couple of pancakes alongside an egg or two?
But hearty portions are this restaurant's specialty. A typical meal may include toast, eggs, hash browns, and bacon or sausage. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. Breakfast is served all day.
If you're not in the mood for breakfast, there are many other choices as well. Many opt for a delicious burger topped with bacon and cheese. Also on the menu are wraps, tacos, and other comfort food favorites. Just about anyone can find something to enjoy here!
