1. Au Train Falls

Start things off at Au Train Falls, which actually consists of two separate upper and lower fall areas. Situated along the
Au Train River , the larger upper falls tumble down for approximately 40 feet, while the lower falls extend about ten feet. Located off County Highway 533, Au Train Falls offer convenient parking and relatively quick access: the walk to the upper falls from the parking area will only take about 15 minutes.

2. Wagner Falls

Wagner Falls Scenic Site for a breathtaking experience. The falls, which are tucked away among towering trees that add to a sense of whimsy, can be reached via a half-mile trail from the parking lot. You’ll even find a convenient observation deck, so bring along your camera to capture a few stunning images of this peaceful and pretty locale. Wagner Falls is a true gem in the town of Munising.
3. Memorial/Twin Falls

Also known as Twin Falls, Memorial Falls is next on your
Alger County waterfall outing . Be forewarned that the falls (which technically consist of two separate streams) are best viewed following a rainfall to maximize flow – but the hike and surrounding spaces are still worth exploring, even when the falls aren’t as lush as they might otherwise be. Turn onto Nestor Street off H58 and park before enjoying a short but rugged hike to the falls area, which features a breathtaking gorge and plenty of surrounding foliage.

4. Munising Falls

Continue your drive down H58 until you reach the Washington Street Junction outside of Munising. From here, you should have no trouble locating the parking area that gives way to
Munising Falls . Lace-up your shoes and head out along a paved trail that extends for just a quarter-mile, appreciating flora and fauna along the way. Next, climb a set of stairs to access lovely views of the 50-foot waterfall, which drapes over a sandstone formation with ease. What’s not to love?
5. Miners Falls

When you’re through at Munising Falls, return to the car and venture to
Miners Falls . This brilliant spot is perfect for visitors who want to get on a short hike while appreciating ample natural beauty. The round-trip hike from the parking area to the falls is about 1.5 miles, so it’s long enough for a bit of exercise without completely exhausting your whole crew. Check out two overlooks for a view of the 50-foot waterfall – you can even traverse down a staircase to get a closer look.
6. Chapel Falls

The parking area for
Chapel Falls sits approximately 15 miles from the heart of Munising, so continue your drive along H58 before turning onto Chapel Road and hopping out to explore. There’s a real sense of majesty at Chapel Falls, as this towering stream of water tumbles downward for an impressive 60 feet. Visitors can enjoy a lush trail that extends for 1.2 miles before reaching the falls’ viewing area. The trail even continues beyond the falls if you’d like to continue your hike and keep exploring the area.
