Most Michiganders have enjoyed a few visits to the Upper Peninsula. Whether you’ve perused the sights and sounds of Marquette or marveled at the Mackinac Bridge from St. Ignace, there’s no beating the beauty of our U.P. But there’s one town in the northern region of the Great Lakes State that stands alone as a truly unique and gorgeous destination.
Tucked away along the shores of Lake Superior, Munising is a truly adorable town.

Since the late 19th century, the town has charmed visitors and locals alike with its unique combination of natural beauty and man-made excitement.
Munising’s downtown area is perfect for a leisurely jaunt — you’ll find everything from coffee shops to thrift stores to peruse.
If you’re looking for a bite to eat, head to Bay Furnace Bagels for some delightful freshly baked treats.
In true Upper Peninsula fashion, Munising is also home to some of the state’s best pasties, which can be found at Muldoons on M-28.
But the real draw of Munising is its access to the breathtakingly beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
Head to the dock and hop on a tour boat to see the rocks.

Take a hike along the shoreline…
… and don’t forget to stop at some of the area’s amazing waterfalls.
Whether it’s your first time in Munising or your 50th, you’ll be completely charmed.
