1. Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad (6140 Bray Road, Flint)
If you’re looking to get up-close and personal with a fascinating steam engine, look no further than this destination in Flint. Riders can enjoy a 40-minute journey alongside all sorts of unique scenery, including lovely views of Mott Lake. As if that weren’t enough, the train ride departs from Crossroads Village — which is simply overflowing with historical exhibits and opportunities to learn. 2. Station 885 (885 Starkweather St, Plymouth)

3. The Lost Railway Museum (142 W. Michigan Avenue, Grass Lake)
Learn about the importance of the railway system here in the Great Lakes State with a visit to the Lost Railway Museum, which was opened to the public in July 2017. With an emphasis on the electric interurban railway, this museum sweeps visitors back in time to an era when six separate Michigan-based railroads met in Jackson County. On a typical day, purchase tickets for a 45-minute ride that includes a round-trip journey between Coldwater and the neighboring town of Quincy. You’ll have a blast checking out the fall foliage as autumn arrives, but the ride is lovely year-round.
