Don’t you love small Michigan restaurants? I know I do. I always prefer to find those small hidden spots with fewer crowds and less noise to create a more intimate dining experience, even if I’m dining alone! This one tiny restaurant in Detroit, Michigan is as small as it gets, serving only a handful of guests at a time. Duly’s Place Coney Island is a one-of-a-kind restaurant loaded with history, open 24 hours a day. This “Coney Island” restaurant is still a go-to place for chili-smothered hot dogs but also for the all-day breakfast, too.
Duly's Place in Detroit is a beloved and iconic establishment that has been a cornerstone of the local community for generations.
Established in 1921, it has weathered the storms of time, witnessing Detroit's ups and downs, and has remained a constant source of comfort and nostalgia for both locals and visitors. Its classic, unassuming exterior and modest interior transport you back to a bygone era, giving you a taste of the Detroit of yesteryears.
Known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, albeit small, it's a place where people gather to savor delicious, home-cooked meals and experience the genuine hospitality of Detroit.
Whether you're in the mood for classic diner fare or the famous "Coney Island" hot dogs, Duly's serves up mouthwatering dishes that reflect the city's culinary heritage.
A Coney Island hot dog typically consists of a steamed or grilled beef or beef and pork hot dog, served in a steamed bun. What sets it apart are the toppings. It's traditionally topped with a hearty meat chili sauce that is mildly spiced, diced onions, and a drizzle of yellow mustard.
But what sets Duly’s apart from most other Detroit hotspots is the fact that it’s open 24 hours, serving up scrumptious platters of breakfast along with the famous Coney Island dogs.
The menu also hasn't changed much since it was opened almost a century ago. Maybe the prices increased a bit, but not even by much compared to other places in the city!
What do you think about Duly’s Place? Have you ever dined at this iconic, tiny restaurant in Detroit, Michigan? Sound off in the comments section! Meanwhile, when you’re in Detroit, make sure to take a look at the unique Viator experiences!
