Nothing says family togetherness and fun like a camping excursion. Michigan is a real wonderland for those who love to camp, offering everything from waterfront sites to beautiful lodging options deep in the forests. One especially gorgeous state park in our neck of the woods is home to three campgrounds, so you can choose the locale that suits your needs. Get ready to unwind and reconnect with Mother Nature.
Young State Park is located at 2280 Boyne City-Charlevoix Rd in Boyne City.
Despite its many perks, this breathtaking spot is often overlooked in favor of other local state parks. When you choose to spend time here, though, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered a hidden treasure.
The park itself features 563 acres of land and ample frontage along the shores of Lake Charlevoix. Whether you’re a beach bum, a nature nut, or a combination of the two, you’ll be enamored.
One of the major draws of Young State Park is its impressive array of campsites, which are scattered throughout three separate campgrounds. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The park features two smaller campgrounds, Oak and Terrace, with 41 sites each. There’s also a larger campground, known as Spruce, for guests who don’t mind a more populated space.
All three campgrounds are classified as modern, so you’ll have access to well-maintained restroom facilities and hookups for RVs. In the summer months, there’s no better place to relax and recharge.
If you’re not so keen on traditional camping, you can even book one of two cozy mini cabins that allow for a fun stay. Each quaint cabin offers a mini refrigerator and can sleep up to four people.
During your stay, take time to lounge on the beach, appreciate three separate nature trails, and simply appreciate the outdoors. Young State Park is the perfect spot to make lasting memories.
