Are you looking for something extra unique to shake up your winter plans? There’s plenty to be said for traditional wintertime activities like sledding, snowshoeing, and simply playing outside with the family – but one awesome event in Michigan allows participants to appreciate the snowy weather while embracing their inner foodie. You’ll leave with a whole new appreciation for the chilly season.
Treetops Resort is located at 3962 Wilkinson Rd in Gaylord.
If you’re a regular reader, you know that we’ve featured Treetops in the past for its inventive recreation options and fun events. The Skiable Feast adds yet another outing to the list.
For those who are delighted by delicious fare, outdoor exploration, and natural beauty, this one-of-a-kind experience will make your winter complete. Get ready to make lasting memories.
As its name suggests, the Skiable Feast allows guests to visit a series of food and beverage stations while perusing a cross-country ski path. Bring your own skis or rent them on-site.
While the event is most suited for skiers 21 years of age and older, it’s perfectly appropriate for beginners. If skiing isn’t your thing, never fear: you can opt to snowshoe the route instead.
The 3.8-mile route is stunning, winding through snow-topped trees and other scenery that will make you feel like you’ve landed in a settled snowglobe. It’s nearly impossible not to be charmed.
Of course, the five food stations will steal the show, offering eats like beef tenderloin stroganoff, crustless quiche with fruit, venison chili, pasta salad, and a variety of tasty desserts.
By the time you’re through here, you’ll have a full belly and a newfound love for wintertime in Michigan. The Skiable Feast might just be our state’s most original seasonal adventure.
