One boardwalk and nature area here in the Great Lakes State will sweep you away on a serene yet spectacular jaunt.
Arcadia Marsh Nature Preserve is located at 16791 Northwood Hwy in Arcadia.
You might think you’ve seen all there is to see when it comes to Michigan’s natural beauty, but no outdoor enthusiast’s bucket list is complete without a visit to this stunning locale.
The habitat here is decidedly special. After all, Arcadia Marsh is one of approximately 15 remaining Great Lakes Coastal Marshes along the Lower Peninsula’s Lake Michigan shores.
There are 400 gorgeous acres of marsh to experience when you stop by for a stroll. At the heart of Arcadia Marsh is its boardwalk, which extends over the water for .75 miles.
The pathway, which is described as “universally accessible,” allows visitors to experience natural splendor firsthand. A stroll along the boardwalk is nothing short of magical.
Keep your eyes peeled for waterfowl or spot a variety of flora throughout the year, including water lilies and purple irises during warmer months. It doesn’t get much prettier.
Approximately halfway along the boardwalk, you’ll find a peaceful viewing deck where you can stop for a quick rest. You’ll want to snap a few photos along your journey.
As your adventure at Arcadia Marsh winds down, you’ll find yourself enchanted by this picturesque and utterly unique spot. There’s no better place to reconnect with nature.
