For over 100 years, Michigan House Café has been providing hot meals and cold brews to the residents and visitors of Calumet. This small town establishment is almost as much a museum as it is a restaurant. Stop by to see the stunning hand-painted mural above the bar from 1906. Take a peek at the antique memorabilia that can be found throughout the building, or visit over the holidays to marvel at their Christmas décor. No matter when you visit, you’re guaranteed to have a great experience.
Originally opened in 1905, the Michigan Hotel was constructed by Joseph Bosch of Bosch Brewing Company. The luxurious hotel and saloon were built to help promote Bosch's brews.
Today, you can still head to the corner of Oak and 6th Streets for good food, beer made on-site, and cozy overnight accommodations. The current owners continually work to remodel and preserve this iconic Michigan establishment.
Head into the bar where you will find treasures from times gone by. The original Bosch Brewing logo can be seen in the ceiling ornamentation along with the gorgeous hand-painted mural from 1906.
The intimate dining room has original fireplaces and multiple antique items on display. It's the perfect place to escape from your modern-day troubles to enjoy a meal with friends.
You will find a large selection of burgers and sandwiches to complement your in-house brew. The diner also offers all of your brew-pub favorites like wings, house-made chips, and potato skins.
If you're feeling a bit fancier, order a 16-ounce Michigan House Steak or the grilled salmon. Regardless of whether you choose surf or turf, you're going to have a great meal in a one-of-a-kind setting.

Michigan House Café and Red Jacket Brewing Company is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. You can stop in on Friday and Saturday from noon until 9 p.m. They are closed on Wednesdays.
