Owners Karen and John opened their doors in 2011. Motivated by the recession to open a shop that would support other local businesses, they have a passion for sharing unique Michigan goods to locals and visitors alike.
One of the first things you’ll notice when walking into the store is the unmistakable smell of freshly-baked pasties.

The pasties are baked daily using a traditional Upper Peninsula recipe, but Heart of Michigan doesn’t stop with their famous Beef pasties. Flavors like Chicken, Bacon Cheeseburger, Bacon Egg and Cheese, Veggie, and Vegan are also fan favorites.
You'll love the opportunity to browse gift boxes and baskets filled with treasures from across the state. Whether you opt for a pre-made box or decide to customize your own, you'll be leaving with something truly unique.

Iconic brands like Better Made, Faygo, Cherry Republic, Sanders, Win Schulers, and Germack can be found along with new items from local vendors. The wooden boxes are Michigan-shaped, completed with shrink wrap, a bow, and gift note.
Heart of Michigan also makes Faygo Candles. That’s right -- these soy wax candles smell just like the pop!
