Haunting elements seem to linger in hotels, where tortured souls met their unfortunate deaths. Still, even though they may make spooky bumps in the night, their presence seems to garner Michigan hotels plenty of curiosity among guests who want to experience what it’s like to lodge in haunted accommodations. Here are some spots throughout the state where you can still book a room in a spooky hotel.
Famed pilot Amelia Earhart was a guest at this Marquette inn before her death. It's said that her ghost makes the occasional visit to Room 502. Guests have reported witnessing flickering lights and odd noises from under the bed.
Back in the 80s, a man was shot by a waitress here, angered by a lousy tip. The man's ghost is said to linger in Room 117, pulling pranks like hiding the TV remote, shrinking shampoo bottles, and moving the complementary Bible around.
Before this place was rebranded as the Henry, it was a Ritz Carlton, which featured a ghostly attribute - doors that swung open by themselves in Room 418. Since the hotel was sold and renamed, the haunting has too appeared to have left.
Two apparitions are said to dwell in this B&B in Midtown. One, a woman clothed in a wedding dress, is said to walk the halls of the Roehn House. The other is the ghost of a man, who if you stay in room 4102 of the Owen House, is rumored to grab your arm.
