Summers in the Mitten State consist of swimming in the Great Lakes, camping trips, and local festivals. We have a very unique event to share that you won’t want to miss. This summer festival in Lake Orion, Michigan includes an art fair and an exhilarating boat race that locals love.
Dragon On The Lake Festival is located in Southeast Michigan, less than an hour's drive from Detroit.
The Legend of the Lake Orion Dragon started with a sighting in the mid-1800s that turned out to be a childish prank. But this incredible festival was born out of the myth and delights visitors to this day!
This amazing community event has an incredible art fair with local artisans selling their handmade creations. Since it’s held by the art center, you know artistic works are a big part of the festival!
But the best part of the festival is the Dragon Boat Races with prizes given out for winning the race, best costumes, and best drummer. Summer festivals are one of my favorite events to look forward to in the warmer months and if you’re sick of the same old county fair, you have to check out the Dragon On The Lake Festival.
