William Ganong Cemetery Is Spookiest Cemetery Near Detroit

William Ganong Cemetery is located near the intersection of Annapolis Avenue and Henry Ruff Road in the town of Westland, approximately 30 minutes from Detroit, by car.

This one-of-a-kind spot first opened for burials in the 1830s. While it’s no longer available for new burials, it remains a popular point of interest for paranormal investigators.

In total, the cemetery houses 350 plots and serves as a resting place for many members of the Ganong family, some of whom were active in the Civil War, WWI, or WWII.

At first glance, the cemetery might look like any other burial place. After all, it sits among plenty of greenery and features lush, peaceful trees throughout.

If you believe in ghosts, though, you’ll soon realize that Ganong Cemetery is unique. Throughout the years, many have reported paranormal experiences here.
