Step Back In Time With A Visit To Detroit's Greenfield Village
Greenfield Village is located in the Henry Ford Museum complex and was the nation’s first outdoor museum of its type. There are more than 100 buildings in the village and each has its own historical significance. Next time you’re trying to find something to do, spend an entire day at Greenfield Village, where you’ll feel like you stepped back in time. Here are some of the highlights:

The Henry Ford Museum is home to a bunch of important historical items like the John F. Kennedy limo, the Rosa Parks bus, Thomas Edison's lab and Abraham Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre. However, the Henry Ford complex is also home to Greenfield Village, and this outdoor museum will really make you feel like you went back in time.

The homes in the village include buildings from the 17th Century to today. These homes were moved from their original locations and put in a "village" style to teach people about the American way of life.

Some of these homes include The Wright Brothers' bicycle shop and home, which was moved from Ohio in 1937, Noah Webster's Connecticut home, Henry Ford's birthplace, which has been furnished exactly how his mother had it, and the Cape Cod windmill, which is considered one of the oldest windmills in America.

There are costumed staff who teach visitors about the history and importance of each home. You can also walk through four real working farms and watch cool demonstrations like pottery making, sewing, cooking and glass-blowing.
