Beating out cities like New York and Chicago, which are known for their famous pizza styles, we’ve finally been recognized for our very own Detroit-style pizza, and we couldn’t be more proud! According to a SmartAsset 2017 report, Detroit just took the Number 1 spot in their edition of Best Cities for Pizza Lovers.
Smart Asset looked at 5 factors when coming up with the city with the best pizza lovers.

To find which city loved pizza the most, they analyzed data on total number of pizza places, average Yelp ratings, the percent of pizza places with average ratings above 4.4, the number of pizza places per 10,000 residents, and the local cost of living. Detroit had an average Yelp rating of 3.42 and the ranking also found out that there are 15.5 pizza places for every 10,000 residents in the Motor City!
Detroit was also (finally) recognized for having its own style of pizza.
