Little adventures every now and then can help chase away the boredom of everyday schedules that never change. If you need something to do in and around Detroit for a day, then this cat cafe and hike will help you fill the time with fun. Bookmark these two spots for trip ideas when you’re in the area.
Welcome to a little cafe full of friendly faces, Catfe Lounge. Out in Ferndale, you'll find that this spot is especially cuddly and a purrfect pick-me-up to start the day.
Inside, enjoy a coffee or tea while you interact with fluffy little personalities for a while. Catfe Lounge is the first permanent cat cafe in Michigan, and as part of the Ferndale Cat Shelter, they always have new friends coming in.
The trail only runs 0.7 miles, which makes for a nice hike of about 20 minutes at a steady pace. Or, you can take it extra slow and enjoy wildlife spotting while you explore along the path.
There are 22 fenced-in acres here, with quite a few heritage trees and a small pond. As long as you have bug spray, it's bound to be a great little adventure to finish out the day.
