Call us biased, but we think Michigan is pretty darn amazing. From its natural splendor to its friendly faces, our state has something to offer each and every person who visits. While every state is undoubtedly unique, there’s something truly special about Michigan. Here are nine reasons why the Great Lakes State is America’s crown jewel.
Geographically, Michigan sits above many of its fellow states in the lower 48. While we aren’t the northernmost state by any means, our placement does come with plenty of perks: we’ve got easy access to the wonders of Canada, our Upper Peninsula features some of the most fantastic natural beauty imaginable, and -- yes -- we feel proud to be close to "the top."
Each and every one of our stunning Great Lakes seems to sparkle and shine, no matter what the season. From the impossibly blue waters of Lake Michigan to the beautiful shorelines of Lake Superior and Lake Huron, there’s nothing not to love about these fantastic bodies of water. The scenery at our beaches will hold your attention like a glimmering diamond.

You know that old stereotype about "Midwestern niceness?" It’s true, and you’ll find plenty of evidence here in the Great Lakes State.
