Your health is the most important thing for you to take care of in life. Without it, you’re nothing. So of course, finding the very best medical facilities is always a priority (that is, if you can afford it). In Michigan, we’ve got a number of hubs in the healthcare industry, particularly in Metro Detroit and the Grand Rapids area. Using data compiled by U.S. News, which ranks hospitals all over the country, we’ve compiled a list of some of the very best hospitals in the state.
This Oakland County general hospital ranked nearly at the national level in two adult specialties. The 565-bed facility also tied for 16th place for best hospitals in Michigan, according to U.S. News, which rates hospitals all over the country.
This general and surgical hospital in Lansing, with 322 beds, also ties for 16th best in Michigan by U.S. News. It's also accredited by the American Osteopathic Association and serves as a teaching facility for MSU.

Beaumont Hospital's Royal Oak campus is ranked nationally in nine adult categories, performed highly in one adult specialty, scored highly in patient safety and demonstrated commitment to reducing accidents and medical mistakes... Quite impressive.
It should come as no surprise that the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers in Ann Arbor top this list. It ranked nationally in 11 adult and 10 pediatric specialties and performed highly in four adult specialties.
Not too many surprises, right? But it’s comforting to know there are so many great medical facilities outside of the major metro areas, too. Do you have any experiences at these hospitals? What did you think of our list? Tell us in the comments below!
