Did you know that Michigan is home to the sixth-largest Amish population in the United States? There are approximately 18,000 people in the Michigan Amish community. If you would like to see the simple way of life up close, visit this Amish Flea Market in Clare, MI that takes place right on an Amish farm.
Yoder’s Amish Flea Market is located in Clare in central Michigan, which has a large Amish population. You’ll know you’ve arrived in Clare when you start seeing just as many horses and buggies as you do cars!
Some visitors come to the flea market exclusively for the food. Naturally, you can find decadent Amish baked goods but you can also find kettle corn, ice cream, lemonade, french fries, sloppy joes, and more!
This flea market is one of the largest and most well-attended craft shows and quilt auctions in Michigan. Make sure to bring along some sunscreen, a water bottle, and cash for all the goodies you purchase.
While you’re in Clare you’ll be able to visit one of our favorite Amish bakeries, which we featured on our scenic Amish country route that leads to four old-fashioned bakeries. If you are spending some time in Clare, make sure you plan a day trip to Traverse City (about 90 miles to the northwest) for a Michigan wine-country tour.
